Spicy Macaroni

Spicy Macaroni

Add a little kick to the traditional pasta night! This recipe is easy to whip up in a pinch but is packed with tons of flavor. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups dry macaroni elbows (or other noodle of your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 6 ounces of water
  • 1 1/2 cups MID'S Italian Sausage and Peppers
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4 coriander leaves
  • 1/2 of a chopped red onion
  • 2-3 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 1/4 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of beef or chicken stock, bucked
  • Slices of toast (optional)

DIRECTIONS


Boil water and add 3 cups of macaroni. Add a teaspoon of salt to bring the water to a boil. Once the water it boiling, add in the noodles and let cook until tender. Drain all the water and set the noodles aside. While the noodles are cooking, pour oil into a frying pan and add diced onion and garlic. Sauté until slightly brown. Add MID'S Italian Sausage and Peppers, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and sauté until the sauce turns thick. Now add the noodles and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Keep stirring for a few minutes and turn off the stove. Pour into bowl and enjoy!

Serving Information

Sprinkle a little lemon juice and serve with toast.
