Grandpa's Greek Mint Patty Bake


  • 3 lbs. ground meat
  • Salt, pepper, garlic, parsley, oregano to taste
  • 1 tsp. fresh or dried chopped mint
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2-3 large potatoes
  • 2 jars MID'S Tomato Basil Sauce


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix meat, seasonings and beaten eggs, then add bread crumbs enough to hold mixture together.
Wash and dry potatoes. Then, slice into 1/4" rounds, then salt them.
Make about 12 patties of meat mixture. Place one patty in a roasting pan on an upward angle, then place a slice of potato next to it.
Keep repeating until ingredients are used up. Pour sauce over ingredients, then bake for 60-90 minutes until potatoes are fork tender.
